Baby is the size of a: Pomegranate. Baby is about 10.5 inches and weighs about 12.7 ounces (in our case a bit more... see below). Baby is swallowing amniotic fluid and taste buds are formed.
Maternity clothes: I think they are becoming more and more necessary, but my choices are woefully limited at this point. I need to start some serious shopping. Although, one of the art teachers at work asked if I would like her maternity clothes (she had her daughter last December). We're about the same size, so I quickly accepted her generous offer. Hopefully that will add a few things to my meager wardrobe.
Stretch marks: I don't know. I have some pretty noticeable ones on my hips, but I'm pretty sure those were pre-pregnancy. But somehow I swear they are showing up more?
Sleep: Hit or miss. Desperately missing stomach sleeping. I am just not cut out for side sleeping. The leg on bottom tends to fall asleep (even with an pillow between my knees), which wakes me up, so I roll over and start the process on the other side. Rinse and repeat several times a night. My back is screaming in protest.
Symptoms: I spoke too soon about an abundance of energy. I was absolutely exhausted this past week. Juggling school and growing a tiny human takes just about all the energy I have. It's amazing and awesome, don't get me wrong, but it's definitely wearing me out at the moment.
Also, lately I've noticed my skin is doing fantastic. I guess this is a pregnancy symptom? I've always had problematic skin, relying on a Rx cream to help keep my face under control. If I didn't apply daily, I noticed a difference. But in the last months I've been able to stretch this to every other day, to now twice a week. This is one perk I'm enjoying.
Best moment of the week: Seeing baby! We had our u/s on Friday (still team green here, though!). It was so amazing to see our little one dancing and moving around on that screen. The tech was a bit abrupt but even that didn't matter. We got to see our babe and it made it all the more real. I was even able to see/feel a couple kicks. So cool to know that what I'm feeling really is baby. Also, once the Dr. reviewed our information, she said baby was measuring about 15 ounces already and a little longer than normal. She then looked at my H, and said, "Well I guess that makes sense." (If I haven't mentioned it before, my H is 6'5", so I have always it likely we'll have tall children.)
But, let's get to the good stuff! So without further ado, here is the adorableness that is our little one:
Baby kept pulling hands up in front of his/her face.
How can you not love this little profile??
The feet! I die.
Movement: Yes. It still catches me off guard sometimes that there is actually a baby in there squirming away. Movement is still mostly limited to when I'm resting or sitting, but occassionally I'll feel something when I'm up and moving. I had an all-day meeting today, so I got to feel baby most of the day. It was pretty surreal. My favorite part is when I have my hand on my tummy and can feel it from the inside and out. Still trying to get H to experience that. He's so impatient! He never leaves his hand on long enough!
Cravings/aversions: Nothing in particular this week.
Belly button in or out? In. I don't think it's going to pop anytime soon (if at all).
Sex: Who knows? I thought I might be tempted at the u/s, but I honestly wasn't. I am enjoying the surprise of the whole thing. It's fun not knowing.
Mood: Besides being tired, I'm doing great. Every uncomfortable/sleepy moment is absolutely worth it. I love feeling our baby growing inside of me and everyday brings us closer to meeting him/her. What could be better than that?
