Obadiah the Papaya

How far along: 22 weeks.

Baby is the size of a: Papaya.  From weeks 21-24, TheBump keeps saying the same weight and length for baby.... so I think I just have to skip that part for the time being.  However, this week baby is finally settling into a sleep schedule, sleeping 12-14 hours a day.  Studies have also shown that baby finds gentle music and the sound of my voice soothing (Yeah!).

Maternity clothes: I need to get on expanding my closet in this department.  I thought more of my summer dresses would still fit, but many don't.  Or don't fit well anymore, I guess I should say.  I need to find time to run around to a few stores, but time seems to be in short supply lately.  Need to ask my art teacher friend about getting the maternity clothes she offered.  I could really use a few extra pieces!

Stretch marks:  Oh they are probably coming.  I'm obviously prone to them.

Sleep: Last week was terrible.  I was sore and tired all week long.  However, this weekend I moved to the spare room for a couple nights and it was AMAZING!  It's only a twin bed in there, but it's pushed up against a wall.  I was able to use an old king sized pillow we have against the wall and then put my back against that.  I also put a little decorative pillow under my bump.  Soooooo much better.  Apparently I didn't need a pillow between my legs, just a few well placed ones in other places.  Let's hope the good sleeping trend continues back in our bed.

Symptoms: I'm sore this week.  Between being on my feet all day at school and then walking the dog, my bump feels crazy sore by the end of the day.  The soreness is mainly located to the bottom, directly below my belly button, but sometimes is RLP down the sides as well.  I knew that pregnancy takes a toll on your body, but I didn't think I'd be feeling it so soon.  There's still a long way to go here!

Best moment of the week: Honestly?  Sleeping this weekend.  I was a hot mess by the time Friday rolled around.  Between being exhausted and feeling like I'm barely keeping my head above water at school, I had had enough.  H and I had plans with friends to grab dinner that night.  I wanted to cancel, but he talked me into going.  On the way home everything seemed to back up on me and I was a blubbering fool the whole ride.  I know that doesn't sound like a "best moment of the week" but after two nights of good solid sleep, I felt like a new woman.  H and I got a lot of things done around the house.  It was pretty much a fantastic weekend.

Ohhhh..... I thought of something else.  My mom and I went to JoAnn fabrics on Saturday.  I remember I had some picture frames that came as a collage set that we actually got as a wedding present and I always forgot to put up.  I decided it would be a great way to add a bit more color to the room by framing fabric.  So, off we went.  We actually found great fabrics for not only the frames, but the bed skirt as well.  I can't wait to get started actually assembling.  I promise to take pictures when it's complete!

Miss anything:  Wine.  Right now I miss having a glass of wine with a good meal.

MovementYes.  Baby doesn't seem to be throwing as many hard punches lately, but I still feel him/her swimming around in there.  It's amazing and scary all at the same time.  It makes me think ahead to when I'll actually be able to see movement from the outside.  Still no luck getting H to feel baby, but we really didn't try very hard this past week.

Cravings/aversions: Cereal is back to being my favorite after school snack.

Belly button in or out? In.

Sex: Baby is baby.  I honestly thought I'd have an inking either way as some point, but I have no idea.  Maybe it's because we're team green, so I really don't think about baby's sex, but it's not something I care about either way.  I'm just so darned happy to be pregnant :D

Mood:  Feeling very optimistic about this week.  I spent a couple hours yesterday getting my science lesson planning out of the way.  Although I still have to copy papers and rethink last year's math lesson plans for this year, it's taken a huge weight off my shoulders.  It nice not feeling like I have to scramble to find something to teach.  It will also give me more time to find fun activities or ideas to share with the students.  No more boring teacher for this gal!
