Half Baked!
Baby is the size of a: Banana. Baby is about 6.5 inches and weighs about 10.6 ounces. Baby's digestive track has started working and boy or girl parts are fully formed.
Maternity clothes: Same as last week. I'm rocking my maternity pants, but still using my normal shirts as long as possible. I've also been using some of my pre-pregnancy skirts with the Bella Band. I figure I have a long way to go and plenty of time to pull out the full maternity wardrobe. I'm in no hurry.
Stretch marks: Nothing new.
Sleep: Still waking up at least once a night to use the restroom. Some night I'm sleeping very well, others, my back is screaming in protest at the side sleeping, so I toss and turn. My favorite part is after H gets up for work and I can kick my leg across the bed and pretend I'm sleeping on my tummy again.
Symptoms: Lots of energy lately. Since it's the beginning of the school year, I'm definitely not complaining! I don't know if it's just the second-tri energy boost, or what, but it's amazing.
Ute stretches are still a regular occurrence. And I'm loving my little adorable bump. It makes me feel like a real pregnant lady.
Best moment of the week: Getting a dresser for the nursery. I made curtains a couple weeks ago, but haven't touched the room since. This weekend my mom and I went to Ikea. I found a dresser I loved, so H and I spent a couple hours putting it together (who knew there were so many tiny pieces in a dresser?) Also, since it's cream, that means we can go ahead and order our crib in the same color! Pic of the dresser below:
Miss anything: This week, alcohol. I'm not going to lie. It's been crazy hot and humid the last week and an icy cold beer would be fantastic.
Movement: Yes! Now that the little bugger is moving, it won't stop. I can mostly feel baby when I'm resting/laying down at the end of the day, but a few times at school I'll be teaching and feel a little kick. It's seriously the weirdest/most amazing thing. I've been obsessively trying to get H to feel baby from the outside, but we can never seem to get his hand on my tummy at the right time. Soon, I hope.
Cravings/aversions: Peanut butter is still awesome. I've had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for the last week. Also, Sprite is delicious. I'm not normally a big pop drinker, but it's my little treat now at the end of a long day.
Belly button in or out? In. Although H thinks it will hysterical when/if it pops. Stinker.
Sex: Still no thoughts either way (how do some people have no doubt and I'm clueless?). I think I have final names decided in my head, though. Now just to get H on board ;)
Mood: Wonderful (is that a mood?). Life is good. I honestly can't believe that we're already half-way through this pregnancy. How am I five months already?? Heading back to school has seemingly sped time up. I know January will be here before I know it.
I also feel so lucky to be carrying this babe. There was a time when I honestly thought we would never be at this point. I am thankful everyday for this little one and the chance to grow our family.
