Weekend Summary

We drove down to the lake this weekend to help my parents and grandparents close up the cabin.  Unfortunately it was too cold to head out on the boat, but we still had a good time.  And, we finally got the furball to swim!  Considering she's a lab, she's been hesitant to swim up until this point.

Unfortunately, once we got back on Sunday, I accidentally flooded the sink in our bedroom bathroom.  The water in our bathroom wasn't too bad, but it ran down some pipes in the basement.  Apparently 45 minutes of running water can do some damage (ie- making your basement ceiling rain).  Fortunately, we were able to get some awesome clean-up people in a Sunday night.  They had to demo most of the basement ceiling in the area, cut out drywall downstairs and up, pull back a lot of carpet and set up a ton of fans/dehumidifiers.  Fortunately our insurance will pay for everything, but I feel like a prized idiot for causing this whole mess (and I blame the bras I was hand washing.... stupid fragile unmentionables!).

In ute news - nothing new to report.  Still waiting around for my period to show.

I'll close this post with a pic of the lake to remind me of the happier times of this weekend.  Must remember: water belongs in a lake, not a basement. ;)
